New Travel Trailer Owner with Questions
I am also very new to travel trailer camping. We just bought our first - a 2011 Rockwood Ultra Lite 2608SS towing with a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.6 with a hemi (which I was told by several experienced travelers was good). My confusion is with the "black water flush" listed as standard on all of these models. I have read about how this is supposed to work but don't see the connection on the camper that should be marked "black water flush".....any help??? I have only had the camper a little over a month and a 1/2 and have used a honey wagon and dump station to drain, but still not the "black water flush" listed on the paperwork. It also is not in the manual.
??? Thanks for suggestions and advice as it IS a learning process.

Double Post
Pandoras, at 9:52am today you posted in this thread, New to RV Camping, at 10:41am you started this thread, Very new - have ????? Need help!, and less than five minutes later you started this one. You typically can expect some sort of response within hours (seldom minutes!) so be patient. Flooding the forum with the exact questions just gets most people turned off.
In regards to your question, the black water flush connection should be near the outside shower compartment.

Sorry for the double post
Sorry for the double (I think it might even be triple) post. I thought I should post a message in different titled forums like I have seen done on other forums that I have used (Trip Advisor, etc). so that I would get a variety of users looking on different topics. Guess I'm learning about this forum etiquette too. It'll get better.

BTW, I just posted in the other thread, Very new - have ????? Need help!, a picture of where the connector is located in a 2608SS.

My rig does not have a black water flush, but I can tell you about pulling with a Ram 1500 Hemi. First, the Hemi gets really thirsty pulling down the expressway. 8 mpg at 60/65 at best. Next, if you have 3:54 rear gears, you really need 3 :92's, or even 4:10's. And that's with 17" tires! My setup has 265 70 17's Oh, and you'll want to get LT rated tires on the truck. MUCH stiffer sidewalls. If you have the factory 20's, your gear is stock at a 3:92, I believe, but the 20's being larger in diameter offset the 3:54 on 17" rims.So basically, same thing. On mine, I put dual exhaust Flowmasters on there to gain some power, and a K&N filter-(useless), don't waste your money, in my opinion. Also put on Hellwig helper springs, to stiffen up the soft 1500's ride, and Bilstein gas shocks all around, as well. Now mine does pretty well as a tow vehicle, but I still need the rear gears- mine's a 3:54. I do get 20/21 mpg unloaded, however. Randy

Dodge 1500 towing
I do have the standard 20's and the 3:92, QC,5.7 liter V-8 Hemi, Towing Package, Electroinc Stability Control, Class IV trailer hitch. MPG does seem to be an issue the Rockwood 2608SS - you're right at about 8.

I can travel right at 200 miles, then I MUST fill it up. I don't use the tow/haul switch- I let it shift into overdrive. Don't really know if that's a good idea or not, however. I really don't think others are getting much better mileage with their similar combinations, be it Dodge,Chevy or Ford. I look at it like this; those class A jobs and most class C's get 3 to 6 mpg!
