New user from PA
Just wanting to check in and say hello.
From eastern PA and will be taking delivery of a '11 Flagstaff HW27sc in a few weeks, so figure I have to join this forum now too. (In addition to PUX and PAFOA forums)
Got rid of a '97 Coleman Westlake last year after getting tired of chasing the ABS roof. So now upgrading to the luxury HW.
Wife likes camping near the water, so I've already booked 4 trips to Assateague SP and 2 to Elk Neck SP for 2015.
Hope to see you there.

Welcome from Lebanon County PA. I find that the PA State Parks are great places to camp. If you like being close to the water try Locust Lake State Park. You are not right on the water but pretty close if you get the right spots.

Wish I could help ya, but I haven't camped anywhere close to home. Wifey is in love with Assateague SP and wants to go there every trip. It's all I can do to convince her to try somewhere else once or twice a year.

Thanks, but see above ^^^^^. Lol. I'm hoping the nicer camper with full facilities will help me convince her to try a few new places. As we both work full time, and I have a rotating schedule and work almost every holiday, most of our trips are scheduled around long weekends, so I'd like to be able to make shorter drives to a campsite. But convincing the wife.... Well......
Edit: I just looked up Locust Lake. Looks nice, and only about an hour from me. Might have to put that on the short list. Thanks.

My wife loves Assateaque SP also. We go there for a week every year. I hate the beach but we have to give and take.
Gifford Pinchot SP is great also. We are making that an annual trip also. Our favorite is Bald Eagle SP every year.
We are trying out Little Buffalo & Codorous SP's this year. We like to travel around and visit different places. We visit a few parks every year and then visit some new ones every year also to keep from getting bored with the same places.
We have friends who get seasonal sites at one campground. I could not handle that although it would be nice not needing to tow the camper every trip.

Hey to all you PA people!
We just bought our first RV and we're in Carlisle!
I'm working at getting it ready for our maiden voyage on Mar 6. We're going to travel all the way to York PA, that's all most 40 miles : )
Unless the temperature is still in the single digits...

Welcome from NEPA. I have to disagree with the SP recommendation though...I'm not a big fan of our SP system, and having grown up 20 minutes from Locust Lake, I can tell you that the sites are jammed very close together--the CG area was engineered back when campers were smaller... . There's lots of private CGs and RV parks that we like to frequent. Twin Grove (near Pine Grove) and Secluded Acres (near Lake Wallenpaupack) are two of our favorites, and Otter Lake (near Marshall's Creek) is nice too. Good luck!

Welcome. We love the parks in PA, though Taranwanderer does have a point to some extent. Not to turn this into the PA parks love / hate thread though. Some of the sites can be difficult to get into with a bigger unit, so we'll se if my opinion changes once we pick the 37' 5th up in March. Everywhere we've been I have not felt that the sites were jammed together any more than a private campground. And I've hit quite a few, Hickory Run, Ricketts Glen, Worlds End, Gifford Pinchot, Prince Gallitzin, Codorus, and Promised Land. Planning on a few new ones this year too.
Promised Land and Gifford Pinchot both have sites near the water. Some of the campgrounds are going through with major upgrades, to include full hookup sites.
