Good morning everybody. Thanks for letting me in the group. I'm 64 years old, and we just bought our first RV. It's a fifth wheel 2001 Forest River Cedar Creek. I got a good deal on it but it will need a little bit of work. My immediate problem is with the slide. It's not going in. I'm going to replace the battery, as I understand this may be the problem, hopefully that will work. I welcome any tips that I can get concerning maintenance, things that I should attend to immediately. Thanks in advance for your help, good to be a part of the group. T

Welcome to the forum from Missouri. Congratulations on getting the Forest River Cedar Creek fifth wheel.
I have never owned a fifth wheel, but most of maintenance and systems are like other RV's. You are on the right track to making sure you have a fully charged battery for the slide so that is a good place to start.
As for maintenance make sure you don't have any leaks where water can get into your RV. Water intrusion any where in your RV can ruin it and be costly to repair. Research the proper way to seal your roof when needed.
There should be a check list of maintenance requirements for RV's. Type in fifth wheel maintenance in the search box at the top of this page and you should get a list of different maintenance to be done and how to do them.
Good luck and enjoy your camper.
