Newbie and Future Travel Trailer Owner

Hello. My wife Cathy and I are new to the forum. We are looking to purchase a travel trailer in the near future. It will just be the two of us most of the time.

We have camped for many years with friends as guests in their trailers and enjoy camping very much.

We are looking for a trailer that we can tow with our current pickup. Details in my signature.

We are looking at the Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104s. I would be interested in hearing from current 2104s owners as to likes/dislikes.

I would also be interested in opinions from folks as to whether I would be able to comfortably tow the 2104s with my current pickup. 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 V8, 3:73 Rear, tow package.

Looking forward to participating in the forum.

John & Cathy

Not knowing all of the specific capacities of your truck, I can't say for certain, but I think you will be fine with what you have and what you plan on purchasing.

I think I can help you a bit here. My son has this exact RV and pulls it with his 2011 GMC 1500 with the 5.3 engine. It tows like a dream and he does, of course, use a good WDH. This is his second mini lite as his first one was a 18' model. He bought both units new and has never returned to the dealership for any repairs of any kind. He is totally satisfied with his Rockwood and will buy another one in the future.
We have been camping for over 30 years in everything from a popup to (3) 40' diesel pushers. We now own a Wildcat MAXX, 33' travel trailer we pull with a Ram hemi 1500 and it pulls fine.
Hope this provides some helpful info, we understand your excitement about getting your own rv, you'll never be sorry you did!!! Good luck.

If you get the 2104S be sure and get the murphy bed. This gives you a lot of extra room when the bed is up. We have a 2304s with the murphy bed and it works out well for us.

I am JKCamper's wife Cathy and I am curious about the Murphy bed option. At first we liked the idea because of the extra room inside but then realized that it eliminates a great deal of storage inside (under & over the bed) & outside (pass through) the camper. Do you find this an issue?

Thanks!

Depending on how it is equipped the max GVWR is 5656# which should be well within the towing capacity of your TV.
