Newbie checking in

I just picked up our first ever PUP (2008 1640ltd) at 11:00 pm on Thanksgiving eve. We got a great deal on if from the previous owner who kept it in storage the majority of its life. My wife and I love to hike and enjoy the outdoors. We have a 7 week old little girl (our only) and want to start her off right, being able to see new places and be outside enjoying God's creation. Can't wait to actually get out and use this thing! Looking forward to learning from you seasoned veterans out there!

Thanks, guys. Honestly, I never really saw myself as a camper until the last year or so. We hiked the Grand Canyon last January, and that has Ignited my desire to experience more places and see more things outdoors. I couldn't really get my wife too excited about my original plan of tent camping, so when the idea of a PUP can along, she was all over it. We can't wait to take it out for our first trip!

Thumbs up You've done well!

We spent 22 years tenting and our 3 month old was with us at the start...we packed more disposable diapers than camping gear. Monthly, weekend trips were part of our lives. Our daughter's experiences are a "touchstone" for all of us. As she grew, her friends came along and we introduced camping to many young people. We are retired teachers now and just purchased a Roo after 12 years in a popup without our daughter, but 2 dogs. So, 22 years in tents, 12 years in a PUP, and, now, a hybrid. Our grandchildren (ages 4 & 6) join us. The family camping lifestyle is a thing of beauty. Outdoors, family, and "war stories" for a lifetime...enjoy your new hobby.
