Newbie considering rockwood 2006 5th wheel signature ultra lite

I am new to camping and considering 2006 5th wheel rockwood signature ultra lite. Will be on permanent site in Western New York either Lake Erie or Chautauqua. I am from Buffalo area. Asking price $7495, white interior, stainless fridge, stand alone table, chairs, two living room chairs, sofa, one slide. Any comments on this model or Forest River in general? Thanks for any and all help.

Do you know the model # ? Before you go to far do not expect to use it in winter in that area. the price is great for sure depending on condition of course. But you can still dump a little money in and still be ahead. It's considered a 3 season camper not 4.

Model #8283ss. It looks to be in great shape and is being sold by a very small, family run dealer. I was pleasantly surprised by the price as all others I have seen advertised online have been significantly higher. All campgrounds in Western New York are seasonal, from about April 15 or May 1 to mid October. Thanks for your comment and any others.

We have the 8289WS Rockwood and are very happy with the construction . That said, we travel with our and are not sure how well a 5th wheel would do in a seasonal site (I suspect you guys get quite a bit of snow over the winter?)

There are other 5th wheels at all three of the campgrounds I have looked at so that must not be an issue. They are winterized when the water gets turned off for the season.

I think you will be fine, just winterize your stuff and pay a visit to it now and then to help keep the snow off the roof, other then that go for it. If you need help with winterizing just ask, someone here will be glad to help with turning the valves and such things and also before I forget......Good luck and WELCOME

To add to Glenn's comment, a lot of the newer 5th wheels have a super simple "Winterize" port. Since this will be something you will be doing yourself, ease of winterizing may be somethingyou want high on your 5th wheel selection list.
