I've never been to Santee Lakes but I have camped at the over campgrounds. Crystal Cove Moreno is nice but the hike down the hill to the beach is pretty steep as with San Clemente. I spend a lot of time at San Clemente SB. I like that Crystal Cover Moreno sites are sectioned off with rope. You can see the fireworks from the campsite on the 4th of July.


Cottonwood @ Rancho Jurupa (Riverside) is nice during non-summer months. There's two campgrounds but I like the new RV one. There's a lake too.
