Newbie From Rhode Island

Hi everyone,
Looking at purchasing a TT soon with my wife, we have been looking around and have been to a RV show to see what we like / don't like.
Should we go through with the purchase we have a local RV dealer just minutes away from us and seeing how this would be our first purchase I like the idea of having a service center close by.
They are a FR dealer and we are interested in the Micro Lite series.
Mostly looking to do weekend getaways with friends, places where we could go hiking or Mt. bike riding.
Our day jobs are stressful enough so this would be to take us away from that even if for just a little while.
Our other relaxing hobby we have is building our outdoor G-scale Garden Railway and taking care of our Koi pond.

If your local dealer is a good one I'd buy local.

Can't agree more. In the long run, it's good to have a good relationship with the local dealer.

If you don't like the local guys, are there any alternative local guys around? For instance, we didn't buy from the dealer that's only 1/2 km from home (literally around the corner) but we did buy from a different one that's only 20 minutes or so away.

Welcome to the forum and to the world of RVing from another G scaler. Might ask around to see how there service department is. If good buy locally save on travel times for repairs. You belong to any of the G scale forums? Later RJD

There is another dealer about a hour away, but I think I should do fine with the one closest to me.
They have been in business for many years and I like the product line better that they offer.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Agree with others - if your local dealer is a good one and you feel comfortable go with it.

Not at the moment. We had an outdoor setup at our last house but since we've moved, I've only been adding to my engine & t-car collection. With spring around the corner, I'll be getting the bug to lay track.

Too many hobbies...
