Aside from the tongue weight, I really don't think the Tacoma will have the power for extended trips, or more importantly, steep grades. It will probably do it, but may end up putting more stress on the engine/tranny, then brakes coming down the other way. The Tacoma is a good truck, but may be a bit light for what you are looking at. Maybe someone that does tow with one will come along and tell me I'm full of it.
