Newbie From Texas
Hello all we just got our new Salem Villa 393RLT. Been through the whole thing and love it. We still have a few questions but I have been looking around the forum and came up with alot of answers already. We have it set in the back pasture with a 50amp hook up in the barn so power for now is no issue. It is a Park Model but we do plan on doing some traveling and we need some info. We love the Nascar scene and want to hit a few tracks next year but we are in a delema for power. Most everything on it is electric including the full size fridge so we are looking for the right size generator to get. It has two A/C units, probably not an issue that we need to run both at the same time but Alabama and Texas in the summer get pretty warm. So we were looking for some suggestions on that.
Also, my TV is a 2008 F350 6.4L CC DRW Class V Hitch and a Blue Ox SwayPro BXW1500 WD set up. I am assuming this will be enough to haul this 40' around. We had the TT delivered so I have not hooked and hauled yet but plan to real soon.
Any input would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks in Advance !!!!!

Welcome Mike and Tammy!! I had to google your model, because when you said Park Model....and 40'.....I just had to see how exciting that must be! Oh my gosh, it is a beautiful camper!!! It is amazing! Love the kitchen!!
I am sure you will have lots of advise on your TV question! You would think the F350 DRW would pull without even knowing it had something attached....but I am a girl, and not knowledgeable on that one. We have a 2007 Chevy 3500 DRW and it pulls our 39'11" 5er like a dream!

Welcome from Arkansas! It being a park model means it doesnt have holding tanks for the sewer and grey water correct? Cant help ya on the generator question. I dont do electric, it hides from me and bites when I least expect it.

It does have holding tanks 2 black 1gray and one galley, so I would say its not a true park model but they also call it a Destination Trailer. Has electric only fridge and hot water heater. Furnace is propane along with the stove/oven. Has central vac. system, two a/c units one on a thermostat and one regular roof unit. Ceiling fan in the LR/kitchen. 3 slides kitchen, dining/sitting area and one in the bedroom. Just what we wanted.

Welcome Mike and Tammy. I thought I posted this last night, but I think I lost my Internet about the time I hit post. Anyway, wow...big rig. I think your 6.4L will do a good job of pulling that, but if you are close to upgrading the truck, you will absolutely love the way the 6.7L pulls compared to the 6.4L. I had a 2008 and was amazed at the difference. The 6.4L did great, but the 6.7L did that much better.
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi from the east a bit, and hope to see you down the road!

I can't imagine that a 350 DRW isn't big enough, but you really need to look at your truck payload number and your RV hitch weight and verify that. There are many threads on here about that and you may also find this link helpful.
If you want to run an AC *and* other things, you probably need two "2000" watt generators connected with a "parallel" kit. (I think a single 3000 watt might be marginal.) Honda has the best reputation and highest cost. Champion is a lower-cost alternative but has lower output power. I just bought a Ryobi 2200 at Home Depot for very-infrequent use ($500). (Higher power than the Hondas.)
One thing you need to to consider is that your fridge isn't going to stay cold for very long while you're on the road. You may need to beef-up your batteries and install an Inverter if you plan on driving very far.
