Newbie from the "Real" Jersey Shore

We used to tent camp frequently, but due to a life changing injury we upgraded to a used (25 year old) pop-up. After 2 years we sold it off and got a 2013 Roo 23SS. Only had it a couple of weeks and can't wait to go camping with it. I have been living online, researching so much. I figure this would be the best place to get information. I look forward to exploring the site.

welcome to the "Roo Kroo"!!

and to the exclusive 23SS Club!

the 23SS has been the one of the most popular hybrid floorplans for many years. lots of mods have been done to them and the floorplan has been copied by other manufacturers.

i'm currently hard-wiring an inverter, next to where the tv hooks up, on my 23SS.

Thank you muchly! (Yeah, I made that word up years ago)

I would love to go to the Frog Rally. Time and medical will determine if I can make it.

I was thinking of putting in a power inverter, but was concerned that I'd kill my battery too quickly. I wanted it for running the TV and a DVD.

if you dry camp much, a two battery setup is the way to go and will easily handle a lcd tv and dvd.
i'm installing a 400w one that also has usb recharging outlets.

we also have a Honda 2000w gennie to recharge after 3-4 days.
we almost always dry camp, since Calif. state parks have less than 1% of its campsites have hookups.

I will have to check it out. I used to teach photography, and have over 800 works online. (sadly some have been stolen)

I'm loving it already. Storage is my only issue regarding the floor plan. The slide out makes for great useable space.

I have a small 100W inverter that will plug into the +12vdc socket and that should handle the 50W TV power.

Up until this last year, we always dry camped, but now the Mrs loves having water and electric. I just wish the generators were quieter.
