Newbies from North Georgia with Vintage Coachmen Class B

My husband and I are dipping our toes in RVing with the purchase of a 1993 Coachmen M-19 RB with 120,000 miles on it. Any advice and insights in getting this baby on the road and updating it cosmetically will be greatly appreciated.

Our 9+ year old lab mix “Miss Kitty” is anxiously awaiting our maiden voyage!

Looks pretty good cosmetically but since it is a 93 I would expect many of the seals need to be replaced. Have all your fluids changed including the transmission and brake fluid. Make sure the burner on the water heater burns with a good blue flame and operate all the appliances. Check the anode rod in the water heater if it has one. Make sure the tires are not weather cracked and replace them if they are more than 7 years old maximum from the date of manufacturer. Also, with a rig that old you probably need to shock absorbers if they have not been replace in the last few years.

Good luck and happy camping. Be sure to join Forest River Owners Group. There is a rally next Sept. in Helen and we would love to have you join us.

Thanks for the checklist.

Which seals do you mean? It has brand new tires. We are familiarizing with every component and your suggestions will come in handy. We have identified a few things that need replacement , will move discussion of those to the appropriate forum.

The windshield, all side windows, the roof seal and all vent seals should be checked.
