Newbies From Phoenix

Hello!
We are a family of 4, long time campers, but this is our first travel trailer. We have taken her out for a few short trips close to home, but are excited to be setting out on our first road trip in a couple of weeks!
Always looking for great tips or words of wisdom to help guide us on our way!

Close to home or far away, the only real difference is the number of fuel fill-ups.
Tips: fill your FW tank before you leave so you have flushing water for potty breaks.
I always use fuel stops to conduct a walk around - in fact, any time I stop I do a walk around. Look for anything unusual, check tire temperatures and hub temperatures using the back of your hand. If something feels hot (warm is normal) find out why before going anywhere. All four hubs and tires should feel the same.
Have a great time, and remember - it's all an adventure!

Welcome and maybe sometime you can journey up to beautiful Colorado for some family memories! (Just remember to pack warm clothes...we can see it get down to the 30's and 40's at night even in July and August!)

What unit did you get? Try lo lo Mai campground outside of Sedona and see if you can get a spot on the creek. No sewer for those spots but great for 3-5 days.

We have a 2015 Forest River Salem.

Lo Lo Mai...was actually our first trip with the trailer! It is really nice there. We liked it a lot!

Welcome to the forum. We love the Phoenix area but have never been there in the RV (yet). We normally fly down and then stay at Rancho Maņana in Cave Creek and usually in July or August when the resort is very quiet and I get the pool to myself. However, we did spend Christmas there last year and had a blast. It was so nice to walk around in shorts and a t-shirt, knowing that back home it was in the minus temperatures.

Welcome from the cold part of AZ, I am sure you will make it up this way in the new camper as the heat builds up down there.
