Welcome Dave and Char. We are from "The Gateway to East Texas". Just up a bit from Houston. Good to see you on board. The best way to learn of course is to get out there and just do it! Just a little hint...the most important thing to take on any trip, especially your first trip, is a notepad and pen/pencil. This way you can write down anything/everything you forgot, or that you find you need or want. It will help you just about more than anything.

Keep us posted!

Talking Southern Slang ha ha

Thanks for all the welcomes!!! Thats what is so awesome about people of
RV Land ! Everyone is so friendly, you never feel alone. We picked up our fifth wheel in Dallas this past Friday, and stopped at a LOVE'S truck stop on the way home. (our first stop with our new rig-)...While we were sitting there eating our burger, several other campers pulled in and every one of them waved. So friendly. Immediately we felt we had done the right thing by jumping in to all this. Kinda hard to explain, but YALL know what I'm talking about.
As for the YALL thing...We southerners say "YALL" instead of "you all"...or "you guys" (not everyone is a guy !!) and it is our way of shortening the English language in a friendly fashion...Thats it in a nutshell !! lol
(Also you know right away that wer'e not from "round here"!!)

The problem will be that you will never want to stay in a hotel again.

Howdy ya'll, from right up the road in Harleton. We're new too, just went on our first trip to Lake O the Pines and really loved it. And this is a good site, very helpful and friendly people. Enjoy!

Welcome from Ontario Canada.Sure glad to have you here even if we never meet. We can all learn something new from everyone. For instance I think I have Y'all figured out and the plural of Y'all would be All Y'all. Enoy your new rig and just take your time. you will figure it out for sure. Old Guys
