Newby here with a 2015 XLR Thunderbolt 415AMP

Greetings everyone!

First, let me introduce myself, my name is Bobby and me, my wife, and step children are the proud owners of a new 5th wheel toy hauler. We've had it for a couple of weeks and have been to two somewhat local campgrounds here in Tulsa, OK to get it outfitted up and do a "dealer punchlist". So far, only minor minimal issues and I've got it back at the dealer getting those ironed out as well as getting a rear wireless camera installed.

Hope to gain some insights and "tips and tricks" to make our trips more enjoyable. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of the forum.

Welcome and congratulations on the XRL. After you get the little things taken care of then the mods begin.

Tons of information available on this site.

Welcome! Make sure to check out the XLR section, especially the thread about "what did you do to your XLR Hyperlite today?" Lots of good ideas.

Welcome aboard!

#1 tip: Checklist. This would be anything from from grocery lists, menu planning, To-Do list, breaking camp, etc.

#2 tip: I found keeping things simple works well for me. It also means less work and less to worry about.

#3 tip: Break a big job into smaller tasks. Can you load some items into the truck a day or two ahead of time? Keep the first night dinner easy - maybe something that can be warmed up. Have the big BBQ the following night when you are not worn out from traveling.

#4 tip: Don't sweat the small stuff. There's little that you cannot recover from. If something doesn't go as planned it will likely make for a good story to share around the camp fire later on.

Dave's RV is where we purchased our 5th wheel. Have heard nothing but good things about them and they are only 5 miles from the house is why we chose them.
