Talking Newly Retired

I finally retired and decided to upgrade our trailer/tow rig. We purchased a new Catalina 333RETS and Silverado to tow it with. We like the livability of the Catalina for extended trips.

Welcome Wilco, and congrats on your retirement. I have retired twice now. Retirement is the best gig I've ever had. Enjoy your new rig. I know you guys are excited.

We are enjoying our retirement. Right now we are camped at the mouth of the St Johns river in Florida. I have not needed to shovel snow yet this year.

My wife and I are both retired now. The only problem now is remembering what day of the week it is. I know when it is Sunday, because that is the fat newspaper day.

Greetings from the frozen part of Arizona,

Amazing that when you retire you are busier than ever. Take time to enjoy that new found freedom and all of your toys.

Congrats on retiring. I've been retired from Law Enforcement for a year. Now I work three days a month still as a bailiff for court. Planning my first month long trip in April to the beach.

We are probably about to get a warning from the powers that be about keeping on topic and no political talk. 😀

Ding, Ding, Ding!! YOU win!!

Guns, politics, religion all are hot topics. Folks have strong feelings and opinions. We've tried over the years to let some of these discussions go
but they inevitably erupt into shouting matches that have nothing to do
with RVing.

There are tons of free for all forums out on the interweb where you can
go and cut loose.
This forum isn't one of them.

Thanks for understanding and keeping it friendly and RV related!

Oh Yeah-- I almost forgot-- Welcome to retirement John!! It's awesome!
I heard folks talk about needing some time to get used to being retired.
I was used to it by the time I got out of the parking lot!!
Finally got DW to retire last April. It's been a great year! Just back from
3 exciting weeks in Florida.
Welcome to the club and to Forest River Forums!!

On Feb 25, 2012, I threw my watch as far as I could throw it. I've not worn one since.

Last week, a man asked me details about what I did for a living. I could tell him who all I worked for, but when he asked specifics of what I actually did, I went blank. I no longer have a clue what I did. And even less interest.

I will gladly starve slap to death, but I will never work 'for the man' again as long as I live. The downside is "as long as I live" has some small number attached to it!!!

to retirement and to the forum from the countryside in Grayson county, Texas.

When I left on a terminal leave of absence (doesn't mean I was terminal; it means I could never go back <> OH, NO!), I took 3 copier paper boxes of "memorabilia". After 3 months, I went through the collection and tossed all but 3" in the bottom of one box.

Now when someone asks, "What do you do for a living?", I say "Live."

Retirement only gets better ~~ I retired 13 years ago next month. The down side is at 67 there are some things I cannot do that I did at 55. Just returned from a month in Florida and plans for more trips made. Bought a new 5er in December and thinking it may come to a MH in a few years.

Well, it takes me all day to do what I used to do all day. Or night.

And........I couldn't do at 55 some stuff I am doing at 67 either!

But........at 55 did you think you'd own what you own now? The TT?? I didn't.

I may be living shorter than ever.........but I'm living faster than ever!!!
