No hot water just luke warm

Hi. Is there a possibility that a by pass valve is still open. After 24 hours on both propane and electric it is no better. 10 gallon Suburban tank in 400rets Salem villa classic.

Highly likely.

You may have one, two, or three valves behind your water heater..... The 3 valve system is similar to the pic below



The valves are open when the handle is running the same way as the water line it is placed in, or closed when the handle is running across the line the valve is placed in.

As you see in the pic, the valves are open in the cold water inlet line and hot water outlet line. The valve in the bypass line is closed, as yours should be fully now.

If your bypass valve is not closed, or even open some....it is allowing cold water to mix into the hot water line............thus your lukewarm water.

You will need to find where your hot water heater is located (if you don't already know). You will then need to access the backside of the heater, which is usually thru a cabinet or some kind of panel on the inside of the rv, in order to get to the valve or valves. Each RV is different depending on how it is designed.
