Not a happy camper

New to the forums.
Just bought a new Columbus 320RS 2 weeks ago and have had nothing but problems. Most of the problems are small, but we have been having trouble with sewage smell in the kitchen and in storage compartment of the camper. I found the problem today, the belly of the camper is filling up with sewage for some reason and camping world just says bring it in we will check it out. Will they ever be able to get rid of the smell after it is fixed, after it has soaked into everything for 2 weeks? Has anybody else ever encountered a problem like this with a Forest river unit? What should I do?

Not a happy camper

I've got a new 320 with no issues as of yet.
Let them see what's wrong and go from there.

What other issues are you having?

The other issues are the auto level system don't work, the back-up camera and key-less entry doesn't work, microwave is mounted crooked, off my over and inch. Plus many other small problems.

Good grief!

That's gonna bite hard, I have no real idea if the smell will go away but I would not bet on it.

The whole unit is now a biohazard so it is going to take some time.

I wish you the best of luck.

The smell can be cured. I have a good friend who had the black tank fitting leak on his unit. It went back to the factory, not to the dealer though. They removed and replaced his entire underbelly and did some kind of steam cleaning. Not a hint of odor when it got back to him.

One tip for you. If you are bringing it to the dealer, drill a couple of small holes in your underbelly to drain the "goodness." You don't want the extra weight pulling down the underbelly while on the road to the dealer.

Well. when we done the walk through we found several problems that were addressed, and one major one that took a day and a half for them to figure out. It had a bad propane smell in the camper when the furnace was running. They tried to tell me it was just the new furnace burning off the oils and paint. I didn't believe them and refuse to move my stuff into the camper until it was found and fixed. They finally found leak in furnace line the goes to the burner and fixed it. while all this was going on we never got a chance to finish walk through and never tried out leveling system.

If your new Columbus has a residential fridge, make sure it has straps to hold all the doors shut. They forgot to install them on mine and that cause a lot of problems too.

Thumbs down Not a happy camper

You said you only had it two weeks? I would contact the factory and ask what's up? Why you shipping such junk?

First the right rear jack wouldn't do anything, I found a loose wire in a plug in the storage compartment and now it tries to level and the same jack sounds really weak and shows an error and says it's over extended. The jack is only extended about 2 or 3 inches. So the unit will not level on it's own so the middle jacks won't go down.

I've called forest river several times already, and they just keep telling me to take it back to the dealer and they will fix it under warranty.

I had a black tank split open on mine, it was fixed, and they replaced all the insulation, and chloroplast on the bottom, the smell wet away.
