Old Rookie

I am widowed, retired, old, and just bought my first ever RV (with lot) at Candlewood Lakes in Ohio. RV is a Salem 37BHSS. Not an ideal floor plan for me but is very nice. Any suggestions (or advice) anyone has for an old rookie would be greatly appreciated. My homestead is in NC but will be trying RVing April thru Oct (fixed site only).
If all goes well I plan to fill the bunks with two grandsons in 3 or 4 years.

Am I to old to say "Are we there yet?"

Only suggestion I could make is to tell ya one is NEVER to old to say are we there yet!

Best advise is to relax and enjoy the camper. There is a ton of information on everything you can think of here. As you have questions, try doing a search for that topic and you will likely find plenty of answers. If not, post a question. You'll probably get more opinions than you want or need. Read them all and pick what works for you.

Sounds like some good times are in you near future!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new home away from home. There are alot of knowledgable, helpful, and friendly people willing to help. One tip is to keep up with inspections and maintainance. The roof and caulking need yearly inspection. If you don't want to get up on the roof yourself talk to other seasonal campers at the campground to see if they know a reputable local mobile RV service tech. Maybe the campground office has a lead on one. Most importantly - have fun!!

Congrats on the new Salem! I would recommend keeping things simple until you can determine your RVing style. Look forward to the day you will be sharing your trailer with the grandkids.

Congrats Old Rookie! That would make me a young veteran?? My advice would to spend a few nights before you buy or do much and start making a list of things you need to make it more comfortable for you. Rank them by priority and budget issues and get going!
