Gleaner,

Congrats again on your new V-lite. We love ours and ordered through Terry Town in Grand Rapids. May I encourage you to soon consider several things that may or may not be installed? First, a slide topper for your slide outs. Not terribly expensive and dealer can install.
Second, after hitch setup and cargo loaded go get your V-lite weighed fully loaded, full propane, battery, water heater full, holding tanks empty. Weigh rear axle of your V-lite attached with weight distribution applied to rear axles of trailer. Weigh rear axle of tow vehicle attached also. 3/4 ton tow vehicle or larger will likely not be an issue on tow vehicle. Gross is approx 8900, 8k across the Vlite tandems. Important to understand if you fill all the holding tanks and fresh water you will add over 900 extra lbs to the V-lite just towing to dump, that in addition to your cargo. Those tires get stressed pretty fast so always keep them at 50 psi cold if they are C range like mine.

Third, then there is the issue of those Trail "Exploder" tires, but enough said other places about that. Go enjoy your setup. You'll be good on them first few trips if you keep your speed and gross weight limited. Have a great camping weekend. Feel free to private message me if you have any questions about setup. I'm no expert but would love to help a fellow camper.....as we say in the south "ya'll" have fun!

Thank you, Sir.
I am under the impression it has the covers already, but I will check at the PDI.
I'll pull it with the Ram 2500, so I believe I am good on the TV.
I really appriciate all the good suggestions and I will weigh it ASAP.
I may take you up on the PM's.

Forecast doesn't look so hot, but we are gonna spend the night in it one way or the other. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again.

Sure thing. Spend some time in it. Relax and dream of all the places you would like to go. Your Ram 2500 is ideal for towing it. Sorry bout the weather on the maiden voyage.

How exciting. So glad you picked it up. Nice looking V-lite. No hurries on your toppers. I have three slide outs on my Windjammer. One of them is under the main awning so I just leave the awning out enough to cover the slide in high wind. You prob already know this but the toppers keep rain and debris off the slide roof. When you retract your slide after being in the rain it pulls all that condensation, leaves, twigs, pollen, etc right into the trailer. There it sits unless you get out to wipe it off and dry it before you retract. Also, the topper protects the roofing of your slideout from the UV and will help it stay cooler in the hot sun since this part of the roof will be in the shade of the toppers.

Last year I watched a guy fall off a ladder trying to broom off his slideout before retracting it. The ladder was on uneven ground as you might expect in most campgrounds......he hit his head and hurt his ribs, not to mention getting some large lacerations on his arm. I helped him back up and bandaged him but his wife and children were very concerned for him. That was likely a painful long 6 hour drive home.

No regrets paying my dealer to install them. But go enjoy first......more time for that project after you camp. I chose black toppers with the diamond package.....they complement the color well........and a heartfelt congratulations again.....welcome to the V-nose family!
