Ordered a Windjammer 2809W last week

Hello to the friendly folks at Forest River Forums...

Let me introduce myself. I am retired from educational public service with the Texas A&M University System. I began RV-ing last year with a used 2005 R-Visioin Trail Cruiser 23QB, a temporary light weight compact bed-kitchen-bath model. Camped for a year off-and-on and asked lots of questions at the parks to decide what I wanted and could afford.

And that brings me to Forest River. One of my cousins has a huge Sandpiper 5-er, simply fantastic, but more than I can pull or afford. I wanted a bumper-pull that was a compromise between space and light weight. I picked the Rockwood Windjammer 2809W.

My local dealer, RV Station, could order the Rockwood product, and that influenced my pick among the Forest River brands. I ordered the options (london sky fabric & redwood cabinet & standard tile vinyl floor) which I felt practical and could afford:
10-6081-71 convenience package D (standard option)
- tint safety glass windows
- gas oven
- microwave
- 13.5 duct ac
- power awning
- spare tire, carrier, cover
- gas-elec hot water heater
- alum wheels
- outside speakers
- serta mattress upgrade
- white gel coat outside
10-1229-1 15K AC upgrade w/ conv package
10-111 power tongue jack
10-1952-1 four-side power stab jacks
10-1798 (2) slide toppers
10-2354 minimum carpet
10-706 countertop extension
10-2102 CO detector (standard option)
10-2068 create-a-breeze bath roof vent
10-1705 rear ladder
10-1320 water purifier (standard option)
10-521 raised panel refer fronts
10-315-1 outside grill

Kelly, the local salesman, predicted a mid-February arrival. I'll have lots of questions between now and then for the forum experts and hopefully some fellow 2809W owners. Nice to meet you. -ray

Welcome to the Windjammer family! Show us pictures when you get your new trailer. We've had ours for two seasons so far and love it just as much as the day we picked it up! Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum Ray and congrats on your Rockwood Windjammer 2809W. Nice floorplan, that front couch is great! You chose your options widely, the 15K AC and slide toppers are a necessity in Texas.

Thanks everyone. And thanks for the nice comments on the options, Wiscampsin. Saw your post on my other thread about 2nd year warranty. Great for new Forest River buyers to know.

Thanks Terier - After browsing the forum. One of the things I decided I'll need to add to my trailer are either the Maxxair II vent cover for my regular vent or a more specific fan vent cover for my Create-A-Breeze fan vent.

Already have good feedback on my minimum carpet option. -ray
