Our journey begins

Wife and I have decided our late 50's and beyond mean workamping so we are the new owners of a 2015 8289WS, Diamond. We researched to a mind-numbing point, toured many and ultimately made what appeared to be an easy choice.

The 8289's fit & finish just stood out above other brands and models that we looked at. The hard underside of the slideouts, larger tv, quality furniture, $$, etc all added up to us being very happy with our choice. I'm excited to get into the Forums for the little quirks and fixes that may come up. The previous owner was an Engineer and kept up with things nicely. The sink is missing the left side of the cover so if anyone has a replacement suggestion, thank you in advance.

As stated, we plan on going full-time as workampers in March and welcome any thoughts or suggestions.

Sounds very exciting to cut loose. We've thought about it, you only live once, but aren't ready yet.

Where and how are you workcamping? Just wondering, are you compensated at all, and how many other full timers are there in you camp? Do you have special skills that brought you to this?

Workamping et al

Thank you for your response.

Our first adventure workamping will be in Tennessee. We will be getting paid though not getting rich. Part of the pay package is the site fee. Skills? I grew up the son of a carpenter and have done all kinds of things over my life. My wife and I both have great customer service backgrounds as well.

There are several video channels on YouTube of folks that are workampers if you are curious enough to check them out.

Thanks again and happy camping.

Congrats, and good luck!

However, I view "work" the same way Maynard G. Krebbs did.
