Pau Hana means quitting time, done with work, or Happy Hour in Hawaiian and this is our motto in life.
He's a former Sheriff Deputy and ramp manager of a major airline and she's a former contractor for the US Navy working in Hawaii where they test and evaluate missle defense systems. We are also joined on the road with our 4-legged furbabies Spirit, our 5 year old Siberian Husky and Sofi, our 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier.
We consider ourselves part-time full-timers because we have a beautiful home base in Washington State that we enjoy most of the year. But when we hit the road it easily can turn into a multi-month 10k mile journey.
We started our camping adventures in a 24ft pull-behind and it only took 6 months to decide we needed to go bigger. We then settled on a 38ft toy hauler (Keystone Carbon 327) which we put over 15,000 miles in just 2 years including living in it fulltime in our driveway for 8 months while we built our dreamhome. After that venture we decided it was once again time to upgrade and move into something with a layout we loved and the necessities we needed like a W/D, a livingroom, and most importantly a dining table. All of which the Carbon didn't have. After 4 months of serious research looking at Super-C's like the Dynamax DX3, Class A's including a Winnebago Adventurer, and other 5th wheels we finally decided on a 2016 Cardinal 3825FL (Forward Livingroom).
We are very excited about our new rig and take delivery on Monday. We had it outfitted with several extras including a 5500KW generator and satellite system as we do a lot of Boondocking in our adventures. Future plans include a battery upgrade with whole house inverter and solar panels as well as an auto gen so we never find ourselves in a power loss perdictiment.
We are members of the Xscapers RV Club, Boondockers Welcome, Harvest Hosts, and RVillage. We also blog online at
