Preparing for retirement - Just bought a 2017/2906ws
One year to go before we retire. We live in Las Vegas. Our 2017 is from Jamatt in Oklahoma! We will have an 18 hour drive to go get it, but it was the one we wanted with 50amp and 2 AC. We have been shopping all over Vegas and AZ for a floorplan we liked that was most like home. comfy recliners, 2 AC and very positive reviews from owners about the company were at the top of our list . We DID NOT want to go over 30k. We have a Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Quad cab 5.7L hemi. If you have a Ram, what's the best anti sway stabilizer hitch? Thanks for all the great advice from all of you

Welcome to the forum it a good place to get your questions answered. Why are you concerned about sway until you actually see how your rig reacts?

Congrats on your new TT and your upcoming retirement!
For the hitch, you'll want a good quality weight distribution hitch and sway control. Your pulling a long, heavy trailer. I recommend the Equal-i-zer brand that has built-in friction sway control. You would need the 12K hitch. I found the best price at RVWholesalers.com. Be aware that you'll need to re-setup the hitch after you load it up with all your gear, food and clothes because you'll be adding at least 600-700# and dealers rarely do a good job setting them up. You'll find lots of helpful tips on setting up your hitch and just about any other camping topic here. Use the search function and if you can't find your answer feel free to post your question.

Welcome to the RV life!
My advice to new comers is always drive as far as you have to to get the
trailer YOU want. Not what the dealer has on their lot. You'll forget the
long drive to pick it up in no time. We drove 12 hours round trip to get ours.

Welcome to the forum. It is a great place to get many good ideas. I would definitely consider an anti-sway device. You have a long trailer and sooner or later you will run into a situation where you will be terrified, you will have to park it, or you will have a device to help you control your trailer. Better to have the device!! I tow in the Columbia River gorge and use the anti-sway all the time. Recently I was in North Dakota and without an anti-sway device, I would have had to park it. Obviously, I think it's important. Good luck is usually preceded by adequate preparation. Have a good time out there!!

By the way, I retired about a year ago and we hit it pretty hard this year. Now, at the end of the camping year for us, my wife and I are missing it already. We may be looking for an all weather trailer and larger trailer to extend our travels. If you're like us, you are going to love it! Congratulations!!

We are looking at the ProPride 3 hitch. Our trailer (Rockwood 2906ws) made it here on Dec 23! Our son delivered it for us. We want to get the hitch before we take it to the Rockwood dealer in Vegas for it's checkup, which is Camping World. We have a 2015 Ram 2500 long box - it's a big long truck! I've read the PP3 makes it feel like your towing a 5th wheel not a TT.
My husband retires in late August and we are wanting to go to Paso Robles for an RV trip. We got a membership to Escapees and Coach-net. Do you think we need Good Sam, too?

Congrats on your husband retirement, I have been retired now for almost three years and love it, the wife and I just got into rv'ing and can't wait to go out in the first of April. The wife and I are also planning a trip up your way to Vegas in September and can't wait to take that long trip in our new rv, about the Good Sam I have it and it will save you a little money and planning some of your trip and for what I understand you can save a little money at the pump at some gas station, like Flying J, and Plot.
