Proud new 'Rockwood Mini Lite' owner

I searched for two years looking for a travel trailer that I could pull behind my Nissan Xterra that could tow 5000 lbs. I found many, but none as ideal as my new (2013) Forrest River 'Rockwood' Mini Lite model 2104, with the Murphy Bed option.

It's 3200 pounds or so dry, so I can pull it safely, especially since I installed the largest transmission cooler I could get.

After a couple of dead ends that took months, I finally had to order one from 'RVWholesalers' out of Ohio, and I live in So Cal! But it was worth it.

I still can't believe how much living space I can pull behind my measly XTerra! after you fold the Murphy bed up, and set up the couch, it's like a small apartment. My 80 pound Boxer has plenty of room. My wife, my dog, and I can all fit on the couch, lol.

Forrest River, I want to congratulate you. I'm a retired carpenter, and the fine workmanship that went into this unit's construction is evident to me. The woodwork, the trim and sealants, the cabinets, and especially the Murphy bed, are all indicative of the attention to detail that distinguishes builders who take pride in their work from others. Well done.

We love our murphy bed too! Don't know why there are not more of them.

Congrats on the new Rockwood' Mini Lite! Sounds like you have found the right RV for your family. Members have a thumps up for the murphy bed and one member posted a little FYI warning about it having a black hole that things can fall into so if you are missing a sock or something you might check there.

BTW - to the fourms. I'm in SoCal too so maybe our paths will cross someday. I'm in the Inland Empire area.

I know! Perhaps it's the requirement of the installer being an expert craftsman. My Murphy is so expertly installed.

I am actively looking for other people to boondock with in SoCal. Mostly for security reasons, but also to find new and better places to camp.

Boondock as in no hook ups or out in the middle of nowhere? What general area are you in?

Congratulations and welcome to the forum from another Mini Lite owner. I can't wait for spring either but it will be awhile yet here. Can't wait to flush the pink stuff out of my water lines.

Congrats on your purchase! Identical layout as our TT, except we have the fold out couch and the bed is permanent. We love our's and so far, absolutely nothing has gone wrong with it. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new trailer. I also have the mini-lite with murphy bed. In our last trailer we had a dinette and no couch so when I saw the mini-lite arrangement with the couch I was sold.

But watch out, our dog prefers to lay on it the long way so I'm often squeezed out like toothpaste from a tube! Thankfully I still have a dinette to go sit at.

Mark your territory before its too late.

Happy Camping!
