Proud Owner of a "Soon to be" Windjammer 3006WK

Hello All! I have been a "viewing only" member of the forum for about the last month and a half or so. My family and I just gave the OK for the order to be placed on our new Windjammer 3006WK Diamond Package.

Needless to say, we are more than excited! The only downfall, when it finally arrives, it will be close to Christmas time here in Upstate NY.

So far, this forum has been really helpful to me during the selection process. I had a lot of questions answered on here, and I appreciate all the help.

My family has been enjoying RVing for about 3 years now. We got into an absolutely beautiful 2004 Trailcruiser Bunkhouse when I bought it from a friend that wanted to update to a new one after camping for only a year. We were hooked to the lifestyle immediately! At the time, we had a one month old son that loved camping as well...he slept, well, "like a baby!"

3 years later, we now have two boys, and are ready to make the upgrade ourselves. The floorplan in the 3006WK is amazing. The second we walked into one at our local dealership, we fell in love with it. Including our oldest son, who immediately claimed his territory in the bunkroom.

I will be pulling this beast with a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab with the 5.3 motor. I do have the tow package that apparently beefs up the max towing capacity to 9500 pounds and has the integrated brake controller and heavy duty cooler. Anyone out there in Forum Land happen to use this type of truck and have any insight for me?

I'll be using a new Equalizer Hitch that I had the dealer throw into the deal for me.

We recently purchased the WJ 3008W and tow with a 2006 Silverado 5.3 with tow package. We ahve the equakizer hitch as well. Get just over 10 MPH American. It seems to tow ok, will know more when we travel to Texas in January 3000km. Make sure the dealer gives you an extensive tour of the WJ. We experienced a few problems, furnace didn't work, vent mechanism striped, but, now resolved.
