Smile Rookie from Tennessee

Hello,
My wife and I just bought our first travel trailer, a 2016 Flagstaff Shamrock, after 30 years of tent camping, so we are very excited. I look forward to learning from everyone and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as we go. We are taking it out this weekend for the first time, so I'm sure it will be a learning experience! I'll just remember to laugh when things don't go as I planned!

Welcome from Madison, AL. Congratulations on the new Flagstaff. You will find out soon that tent camping is over rated, there is a lot to be said about a potty being a few feet from the comfy bed, hot and cold running water, and not having to have an ice chest for all your food. Happy camping and have fun

Welcome to the wonderful world of camping! Sounds like you'll love it. Like you said, worrying about the things that go wrong won't prevent or fix them, so you just have to go along with a lot of it. We leave out this Saturday morning on a seven week road trip to see all the grandkids (plus a week in the Smoky Mountains for ourselves). Life is good! Have fun on your trip!

Welcome. One suggestion, unless you have previous TT experience, hook up and go to an empty parking lot and practice backing up with a spotter. You'll find that reversing with a large object blocking your vision takes some getting used to.

Yes, I've actually been doing that every evening with my wife back there guiding me. We put out some orange cones and try to back it in from several different angles. Just hope the campgrounds aren't too tight! Thank you!

Hello and welcome from NW PA. We just got back from your beautiful state celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Smoky mountains are awesome.

Welcome to the forum. Might want to do a dry run at the house and check every thing out. It helps you get familiar with the camper. Enjoy. Later RJD
