Saskatchewan RV Virgins

Hey all, my wife and have purchased a 2014 Flagstaff 831 BHDS, our first TT. Looking forward to Friday as we have our walk through and set up the truck with trailer brake system and hitch. We are pulling with our 2010 Toyota Tundra and hope that everything handles well. Looking forward to exploring Saskatchewan's numerous lakes and golf courses, and of course meeting some new people along the way. Plan is to hit as as many campgrounds as we can this summer and get our names on some lists for a seasonal spot in the coming years. Thanks for this great forum, very informative.

Awesome TT the 831 BHDS, congrats on the new rig, the weights on the new TT is about the same as my Wildwood 26TBSS that I pull with my Tundra you should be fine the Tundra 5.7 will pull it - just be prepared for down shifts going up those hills, take your time and be safe. Happy camping and welcome to the forum from mid California.

In my previous post I should have asked if your Tundra has the full tow package, it can make a difference.

If you're going to do your walk through, find a PDI Checklist to follow. Either the one in the library here at FRF or this is the one that I've used twice now:
http://www.angelfire.com/trek/buenav...PDI_V113_2.pdf

It'll help make sure that you hit most of the systems and really test them out.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Did you buy from Minards? If so they will give you a very good walk through.

Welcome. I recall my first year of owning an RV and the excitement for getting out there. My assumption you bought that unit from Susan and the gang at Minard's. They are a top quality dealer! I have bought my last two RV's from them and will always go back.

Have fun...

You bet, full tow pack, 5.7L. Tow cap of 10,500 lbs. I think I will make good use of the triptronic shift option as well.

We did buy from Minard's, we live right in Weyburn here and it was a natural choice. Picked this unit out at the "Dreamin of Summer" sale 3 weeks ago or so.

Welcome to the Forum from Dog River. If You ever make it to Dunnet Regional Park at Avonlea, give me a shout. We have a seasonal site there and will be out there most of the summer.

Excellent you are in good shape, I suggest you make sure you have a good brake controller and have it adjusted correctly, my approach is the TT stops itself and doesn't push the TV. The Tundra has one of the best braking systems out there but still make sure the trailer is stopping itself then you have better control in the mountains.

Enjoy
