Single mom from CO
Hello!!
I just purchased a new-to-me 2002 Sierra by Forest River TT that I plan on using for my 2 boys and myself! When married we owned a Jayco pop-up camper that I always ended up taking out by myself with my boys cause the ex was always too busy working to go with us and I wasn't going to stay home and miss out.
Now that I'm divorced I moved up to a travel trailer to have more amenities. I am a little nervous about learning to back it but I always did well with the pop-up. We've gone on 2 overnight trips close to home with pull-through sites so far. I was scared to death the first time I emptied the black tank at a dump site but we all survived it!!
Any other women out there that go out alone or without a significant other anyway?

Welcome aboard, and glad to hear you are making memories with your kids. We have many women on these forums who camp without a man getting in their way.
Feel free to ask any and all questions.
There are actually many predominately female camping clubs and groups, that may have members/branches near you.

Welcome to the forum this is a great place to get your questions answered. If you can backup a pop-up, you will have no problem with the TT.

Good for you! Camping with your kids is so important and you will have many fond memories to share after they have grown. I'm glad you have not shied away from camping. I am not single and would not try to set up our camper by myself as the two of us always have a difficult time getting the thing hitched and unhitched from the truck. Mainly due to the size of the TT and partly because it really likes to be level to be unhitched. It often takes a lot of muscle/weight to do it, which I just don't have anymore.
There are also several sites for women RVers, such as women RVers or similar title. You may find more specific topics related to women who RV alone, but please stay on this forum too. You will find a lot of great information here. You can find FROG rallys to attend in your area. You can also find women's RV rallys on the women specific sites. Good luck and happy camping!

When my bride and her sister go together, I am not invited; it's my job to tow the camper to a nearby state park, set it up, then disappear for the weekend. I then return, break camp, and tow it home.
They're not exactly as self sufficient as you, but they still feel independent.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your camper!

Welcome! Our life experiences almost always come out sitting around with friends and family, the funny thing is, we usually end up talking about all the trips that DIDN'T go as planned. My point is you'll be making memories, but expect the ones you want to forget to be the ones you laugh the most about! Enjoy.
