Smelly toilet

Help our toilet in our 2014 mini lite now smells like an old urinal. Please any advice. There appears to be no leaks and we are very diligent with emptying out black and grey water tanks.

Do you add the chemicals to the tank?

Try searching for the geo method for cleaning the black tank. It works for me also check your black tank vent pipe to ensure it is not blocked.

I previously emptied my black water every two or three days until a friend told me he didn't empty his but once a week. I always use the "bio packs" and sure enough, if I wait a full week before emptying we never get any sort of smell back up into the coach.

Plus - we never have clogs, since evidently the "bio packs" do create enzymes to liquefy the solids and paper.

I realize not all black tanks are the same size (I believe ours is 42 or 43 gallons) and generally it's just my wife and me, but you might try the bio packs plus not being quite so diligent emptying the black tanks. It's worked for me.

I use the Bio Packs, Toss Ins, there are various names for them, basically you simply toss the little bag right in the toilet and flush with plenty of water, Plus I do the Geo Method, and have no smell...Also use plenty of water when flushing, it helps liquefy stuff and helps in the breakdown....if you do a search in the forums here there is enough reading material on the subject to last you a week.

Found the problem

Our smelly toilet had nothing to do with the tank or vent. We had a defective toilet which Dometic replaced in two days . We had a 300 series which the company was aware of the defect. Funny our dealership where we purchased the trailer did not. Will be for sure looking to purchase our next trailer else where . Actually they were very rude to us and said to bad your year warranty was up. Domestic customer service was excellent. The issue was waste water was getting between the bowl and the outside of toilet. Let's just say we were not happy with the brown sludge that spilled on us during the toilet removal. Everything is smelling like roses now.

Great! Dometic has always been quick to respond to any issues I have had..

Next is to check your awning motor if your awning is made by Dometic...
