Arrow !st time Motorhome owner, travelin from AZ-WA.

Good Morning everyone. Hope this day finds you all in great Spirits and BIG smiles on your faces.
I am traveling from AZ. to WA (moving) with my wife and two kids(8&9). I decided to buy a 1985 Rockwood Motorhome and make it much easier to move & take the kids on the long distance. They are so EXCITED.
We will be leaving AZ Monday morning and taking our sweet time getting where we are going. I have had the coach checked out and oil changed as well as the 45pt. inspection @ Campersworld. I think the best investment I did was get their insurance for two years for $99 WOW is that a good deal. I thought so.
Anyways if anyone has owned one of these Rockwood Dinosaur Low Riders please do share you experiences.
Safe Travels in your journeys.

I know that you will enjoy the motor home. Take lots of pictures and post them on here. Don't forget to join the FROG group. We take trips together and have a Rally in Indiana in early August. Welcome to the forum and don't be afraid to ask questions, there's a lot of years camping on here and will happily help out.

to the forums! Ditto about attending the rally. This rally is really something that you won't want to miss! When you have time read the all the posts from the last rally.
Great choice for "Living within my means" and camping for one...

Welcome to the forum and to Washington State. We're up close to the top LH corner. Where will you guys be?

You'll certainly see a big difference from AZ. Webs grow between your toes and 60F and 50% humidity is a nice summer day!.

Actually this year has been spectacular. We had (I think) 79 days in Anacortes with less than 0.2" TOTAL rainfall, and clear skies, sunshine, temps in the mid-70s and humidity in the 20% range. It changed with a bang on Friday. We're now into daytime highs in the 50s, humidity in the 80% range, wind and rain - a normal NW winter. There's already 4 to 8 inches of snow in the mountain passes, particularly US2 and SR20. I-90 doesn't seem to have been affected much as the snow level is just about at the highest level of the highway.

Whatever brings you and family here, I'm sure you'll grow to love the place. We emigrated from the UK in 1968 and have lived in Western Washington the whole time, except for a short stay in Tidewater Virginia. I'd never seen a combination of fog, thunder and 85F at 07:00 in my life before we moved there. Endured it for a bit over 2 years and then got back to Washington - been here ever since.

what a great way to travel/move. I hope you enjoy every minute. We have a homebase in the southeast corner of WA. Where are you heading? Washington is a great state, but I have to admit that I spend quite a few months a year in AZ and the warmer south!
