Surveyor 186

Just ordered my Surveyor 186 from the dealer.White interior, vinyl wood floors, stone creek interior, interior & exterior luxury packages. Scheduled to be here the beginning of August. Anything I should look for when picking up the unit? Any tips for the first tow. I will be driving 10 hours to get it so I want to make sure I am all set for the ride home. Towing with a 2005 Jeep Liberty with weight distributing hitch and sway bar. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank You!

Since you're going so far I'd search for a PDI list here and print it off and take it with you. I'd also plan to spend the night in it on the lot and sign the paperwork the next morning. That'll give them an opportunity to repair stuff and/or answer any questions you have. Spend time now learning everything you can about the hitch you're going to be using. That way you can make adjustments to it if needed.

The best advice I can give you is to take your time and go over everything before you leave.

Thank you for the advice. I planned on staying overnight on the lot. I would have bought locally but no one had the model I wanted and was not willing to deal on a new one. The closet I could get was a 2008 for about $1000.00 more than I am getting the new one. Explained this to the dealer and they were not willing to budge. I saved about $4000.00 going south and got the camper set up the way my wife & I wanted. I am driving to Florida in August and the camper may be ready by the time I am on my way home, with any luck.

Thanks Again!
