Thinking of Buying a Salem LE 23BH (Northwest)

Hi -

Just joined the group! I love that this forum is here, because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about this model of the Salems (50 gallon fresh water tank ROCKS!! - as do the 'extras' in the Northwest Package - great for the wet and cold weather up here in the Northwest).

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a Salem recently and what advice you can give when factory ordering (what extras to ask for - from the dealer if FR does not provide it).

I am a little nervous about buying a Forest River product, since I've read their quality control is not the best. But, for the price point, it can't be beat.

I am planning on using my TT around 60 days out of the year (from about March to October) with about 4 big summer trips and 15-20 weekend trips. This is a lot of use for an entry level TT and I fear perhaps too much for the lower-end Salem. Any advice here? If I keep the Salem well-looked after, should it last me several years even with high use?

Thanks so much in advance for your advice!

Welcome to the new Forest River Forums Paula. We're glad you are here. I think there are a few Salem owners here so be patient since we are still a very new site, but growing every day. Enjoy your stay.

My Flagstaff is excellent quality and it is an ultra lite. You will find that the small percentage of people that do get a bad unit will be the ones that yell the loudest. Overall most people are very satisfied with their particular FR unit. But it never hurts to dig for as much information as you can because it is a big purchase and you want to be happy with it.

Thanks for your warm welcomes!

I just posted another thread on the Salem forum, so hopefully I can get a reply from a Salem owner.

Thanks again!
