The 2.7 has more power than you will need. the engine is built like a diesel
(heave, reinforce block and heads, Rn in the Baha 1000 (driven from and back to Detroit!)

The EcoBoost is a nice design for sure, however comparing it to a Super Duty diesel is just crazy talk. Saying the 2.7 has more power than you will need is also over the top.

Your horsepower number is correct but you torque number is not. If I remember right and maybe you pushed the wrong number but I think it's 910 ft lbs of torque.

I'm curious as to what your 832IKBS weighs. Mine is <9000# with 1100# tongue weight. I can pull it with my Silverado 1500 5.3L but I've had it on a seasonal site since I bought it.

My 2011 Ford F-150 with the ECO boost and full tow package is rated at 11,300 lbs. Rating is like 10,500 with the V-8 gas engine.

Travel Trailer Towing 101: You cannot tow anywhere close to the rating without exceeding other limits.

Towing Axiom 101(b).....if your entire setup as fully loaded has cargo carrying capacity (called "payload") to spare, all other towing specification numbers will almost always work. The reverse is not always true.

That is why I used Travel Trailer Towing 101 instead of Towing 101 to rule out the hypothetical axiom.

Agreed. Best to keep dry weight under 50% of tow capacity. This usually keeps you under all of the various limits.

My ecoboost has no issues with my 5,000 lb trailer.

My 3.5 Ecoboost 3.73 max tow can do 11200 but I would not tow near that rating our trailer is about 850 tongue weight and about 8500 down the road. Easily tows this .

Absolutely a better choice. I am more comfortable on the road knowing an HD truck is pulling that weight.

If the 11200 lbs is from the Ford Towing guide or other charts that is a best case with a lightly optioned truck. The only way to determine the maximum towing capability of a given truck is to run the calculations. typically it is payload that folks run out of first and becomes the limiting factor in TT or 5th wheel weight you can tow. You still have to consider all of the other maximum weights though as you could have enough payload but be over the other ratings.

832-IKBS, FlagStaff (GulfStream) that dry weights at 8,100-+ and tough wt of 900lbs will be TO much weight for the small 2.7 V6, 2015 Ford XLT, EcoBoost. It has a 6 foot bed. I know the book says it's tow rating is 12,500 pounds. But seems to be an awful small engine for that size travel trailer at 35 feet.
