Congrats on your new-to-you Sunseeker. For a newbie, I'd suggest 2 things that really helped us:

1) Checklists, so you don't forget something. Your checklists will grow over time with more experience.
2) Spend lots of time on this forum learning things you had no idea about regarding RVing. There is a ton of great tips here, from black tank maintenance to cooking.

EDIT: One more thing I found really helpful was YouTube videos by RVGeeks, Love Your RV and RVProject.

Camping at a park near home the first couple of trips is a great idea. It will help you sort out what you can't live without and what you can do without. Booking a full hookup site a couple of times will allow you to take your time when dumping the tanks and you can ask your neighbors for advice. You can even fill the fresh water tank there to make sure the water pump works properly before you try camping without a water connection.

Thanks. I'm interested in hearing what customizations you've done.

My mods are not extensive compared to many here:
- Installed Progressive Industries hard wired 30A EMS
- Home made X-Chocks
- Added shelves in outside storage compartment (by previous owner)
- Added Winegard Wingman
- Upgraded water pump to Shurflo 4088
- Replaced OEM shower head with an Oxygenics shower head
- Replaced manual tongue jack with Husky HB4500 electric jack
- Added Maxxair vent covers on all roof vents
- Awning support arms (Wooster Sherlock 6' to 12' painter poles) using brackets by forum member OldCoot.
- Maxxis M8008 load range D tires (replaced 5 yr old original tires that were load range C)
- Removed thin metal stove cover with poor hinges and replaced with extra large cutting board

I'm going to get a Hughes Autoformer in the Spring because I've had a lot of low voltage errors on the EMS in the past couple of years. I'll probably buy some Eternabond tape next year and cover all the sealant on the roof.
