Travel Trailer Newbie

Hi all,

Great site here!

We picked up our new 2015 Wildwood 26TBSS this past Monday. Our first travel trailer. Gotta say the buying experience was less than pleasant (seems to be the norm?). Found out at the last minute, dealer wanted to charge $500 extra for the walk through and a pathetic starter package (gas bottle fill, cheap sewer hose, and tiny battery). I politely declined, watched several you tube videos and picked up what I needed from Wally the day before for much less. -Sorry about the rant, should start a new thread on this!

Anyway, the wife and two kids are super excited! We have booked our first camping trip for this weekend about 45 miles from home.

Congrats! Sorry about the dealer experience. I would not say it's the norm but it happens more than it should. The key is being an informed consumer for everything. If you are going to have RV work done check around and do some research on it and you may end up doing the work your self. You will learn a lot from internet research and crawling around your RV. If you are handy you will be able to tackle most if not everything that can happen. The forums are also an excellent source. Post a question, though occasionally you will get a grumpy troll, but that is not the norm. We have had a tt for 2 years and love it.
