Truck Camper from Nebraska

My husband and I just purchased a new Palomino 8801, and took it out for a spin this past weekend. It's small, but absolutely adequate for our needs. We are more traveler, and less camper, if that makes sense. We have three main uses in mind:

1. Driving back and forth to visit grandchildren. It's a 10-hour drive, and sometimes we just want to stop and sleep when halfway there.

2. I participate in half and full marathons across the country. Instead of flying and getting a hotel room, we'll drive and enjoy each other's company while learning about the States between here and the activity.
3. Nebraska winters can be cold. We are hoping to take several long weekend trips during the winter, getting just far enough away that we find temperatures above freezing.

So - while we intend to spend many days and nights in the Palomino, we don't intend to spend consecutive nights in any spot.

Thanks for allowing us to join the Forum. We look forward to learning many things from all of you!
