Very Newbies
Hi, I am Sue, my husband is Steve. We are new to owning and RV and purchased a 2017 Forester that is on a 2016 Transit Chassis. So far, we haven't been able to get out an have a "Shakedown" Trip, because of some problems and learning curve. We hope to do that soon.

Welcome to the forum. We were new to RVing last August and just purchased our 2nd and last RV. Our first was a Keystone and now a Forest River product. We found the Keystone Forum and now the Forest River Forum oh so very helpful. So many kind folk on here to answer both simple and hard questions and great advice is given. Mod ideas are abounding. Explore the site, you will learn so much. We have been RVing for not quite a year and we find ourselves able to help others at the campgrounds, thanks to all the help we received. Enjoy every minute, we do.

A good 'shake down' trip would be to camp in it in your front/back yard...

LOL at this rate the front idea just might win, waiting for the HOA to scold us for having here a lot and not going anywhere.

A frame flooring
Hello, I have purchased an A-frame, but I have noticed under the trailer that the wood is exposed. It looks like it is unfinished. Should there be a coating over it to seal it?

We live in an HOA as well. Sometimes the TT sits in the driveway a week or more. In my experience you will not have any HOA issues if you speak to all of the neighbors who can see it from their windows. We haven't had a single complaint in three years of use. Have fun!

Welcome to the forum Trippi this is the place you get your questions answered with that said you may get better responses if you start a new thread with your question.
Changing the subject in the middle of a thread started by someone else is referred to as high jacking the thread we try our best not to do that. to answer your question myself I would paint it with a good outside paint. Check on the A-Frame forum they have all the answers. Congrats on your new rig

Well we did it! Got out for the night at least. Interesting experience. Found out the LP line we bought to go from the RV to the grill is the wrong fitting. We can't set the clock and disassembling the table was not fun. Last but not least. THE DUST! OMG! However we did get out for the night and survived.

It has taken me a while to take this advice, but it's good. Relax and have fun.

Welcome to RVing, as others have said the best place to "shake down" is in your own backyard. But, don't be afraid to get your feet wet, experience the road and the destination, neither is fatal!
