We just bought our 1st camper!

The wife and I finally decided on our first trailer. We bought a 2013 Salem 27RKSS and pick it up this Saturday. We have been kickin' tires for the last few years and finally found the perfect size and floorplan to fit our needs perfectly.

I found this forum while I was gathering information about the Forest River line and found a wealth of information here. I enjoy reading about others experiences and also enjoy learning tips and tricks that will make my camping life easier.

I look forward to reading all the shared stories and information and hope to contribute some interesting reads as well.

Hi,

Congrats on your new Salem! You did well in waiting to find the right floorplan for your family. When is your first trip? You might wish to do a little driveway camping. It's a great way to go through the steps in setting up and breaking camp before hitting the road. Forgot how to do something? Post it here and someone will refresh your memory.

Take care,
Terier

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 2013 Salem 27RKSS . Many people settle, you were smart to wait until you found the perfect size and floorplan to fit your needs. Wishing you many safe and memorable trips.

Welcome...and congratulations on waiting for the perfect unit. We jumped into our first TT and looking back it was the most uncomfortable thing you can imagine. We lived with it for 3 years, but it wasn't a "joy" to go camping.

Then we went to our first "fiver" and by this time we had a pretty good idea of what we truly wanted in a unit. That one served us well for 6 years until we saw and fell in love with the perfect floorplan for us. We traded for the Columbus in March of this year and truly love it.

This is our second Forest River product and I realize I'm biased, but I don't think you can do better at any price level than Forest River.

And just look around at the great, friendly people you meet within Forest River!!!
