Western Canada - New 2015 FR Surveyor 220RBS (Dinette issues)

Well, my first forum experience as a seasoned RV'er. We've had our 2015 220RBS since May 2015 and have had quite a few issues. I'm wondering if someone out there has also experienced the pour dinette design issue and how to make the collapsible table into a bed when it is too high and too floppy .... and there is no cushion with the unit that would fit....Come on FR...? Really.

Anyway, we love the unit but have experienced too many issue since we picked it up. The dealer has been great but never the less, we're in there after every trip it seems.

Back to the dinette. Cut a piece of plywood to fit in the whole where the table sits? Then what do you do with the table..

So if you have a plan/idea for the dinette, please let me know.

Bill

Welcome to the forum. You like most of us have had issues some more than others but Dealers and FR will make it right. Hang in there and enjoy Later RJD

Welcome to the forum from Ontario. I am surprised that if the table is designed to be broken down to a bed there are no cushions/mattress. Mine when I convert table to bed, the dinette cushions form the bed mattress.

Hello Bill, I agree with you on the dinette and the problem of making it into a bed. FR says the trailer will sleep 4 but there is no cushion to make the table into a bed. I have talked to someone at FR and they say the reason there are no cushions in because if someone were to sleep to close to the edge the table might fall over..DUH How about a brace underneath the edge of the table to prevent it from tipping. They told me to use the cushion from the back which does not fit correctly. I'd say it is poor design on FR's part.

We have had our Surveyor 220 for 3 years now and still love it. But, I can't help you with the dinette/bed issue as we don't use it as a bed. We just put the factory table in our storage shed and replaced it with an adjustable plastic table. We then store that plastic table when we want to lounge and use a foot stool for our feet. We're fortunate that we haven't had any problems with our trailer other than what I've caused.
Happy camping!!
