Wood eating beetles in my new E-Pro19FD

I've found out I have "Powder post beetles" in my new TT. I had it inspected and verified by 2 exterminators. They both recommend tenting and fumigation ($1200). I havent contacted FR yet. Was wondering if anyone else has found or dealt with this issue. Thanks for any replies.

Had them in my 2006 5er they thought I was nuts when I told them about the problem. According to the exterminator I had out to look no real way to guarantee you can get rid of them except change out the bad wood areas. In my case it was a cabinet door so I had my local cabinet maker make me a new door. Later RJD

Update: Had the trailer fumigated at a cost of $1200.00. Exterminator gave 100% guarantee. FR has agreed to reimburse the cost, they have encountered this issue a few times.

so FR gave you a lifetime warranty on the rv and wood damage? what happens when it falls apart because of the unseen damage ? our insurance has told us we are not covered for wood damage. when was your unit manufactured we are beginning the challenge on our unit manufactured in aug 2017.

No, the local exterminator gave the lifetime warranty, FR is reimbursing me for the cost to fumigate. I don't have the trailer here but it is a 2018 so I'm assuming it was built in 2017.

Any resurfacing of them since treatment? What product did they use? I’ve been told Bora is the proper product ??? We have them in our camper bought in Feb 2018. Has FR reimbursed you? What about the holes in your wall... did you have they fixed?

No sign of the beetles returning so far. FR reimbursed the entire cost fairly quickly. I didn't repair the holes because they were very small and I didn't feel it was necessary as the holes were in the underside of my cupboards. The exterminator tented my trailer and used a product called Vikane Gas at a 10X rate in order to penetrate into the wood. I worked with "Rayna", the head of the service dept. at FR.
