Electric steps

I have a Reflection 327 and the electric steps have started to act up. They are locked in an up position. When I activate the switch to drop the steps, I hear clicking from the control unit but the motor does not activate the steps. I can't figure out if it is the control unit or the motor. Any suggestions about how I can check one of the other.

thanks.

Never had Motor Driven steps but figure this might help to troubleshoot your issue

unhook the motor and use a multimeter to test the voltage to the motor and see if it is getting any voltage.

Possibly a bad or blown fuse - if I remember correctly the fuse will be close to the motor or check your power / load center for a bad fuse.

Thanks. I did replace the fuse but the problem still exists. I'll do a voltage check to try and isolate the problem and let you know the outcome.

Did you get your step problem fixed?

I just finished fixing my steps. They were erratic for a while then would not deploy. I found that the controller was bad. I must have had one of the early ones because it had a circuit board that I could troubleshoot. I found a circuit card trace burned open. There are about three hundred components on the board and with no schematic it was beyond my capability to troubleshoot any farther.

I replaced the controller and the step works.

The troubleshooting procedure can be found at:
