Out with the CRT in with Flat

This is the first major update since purchased our 02 Reflection 352 coach in July. I removed the old 19" CRT and installed the HD flatscreen. Not too shabby. Next up surround for it...

AWESOME! What make/model of TV are you using? I'm looking to doing the same thing, but I want it to look right. I like the idea of the shelf under the TV. A center channel speaker would go well there. I did the rear TV and it looks pretty good. I just need the front.

Thanks!

It's a Samsung either 22" or 23" from Costco $189. The books for it are in the coach which is in storage or I would get the model for you. I trimmed the opening with a trim saw to max or right agains the vertical dividers on the overhead. I used 1/8" weather stripping around the exterior opening for the TV for vibration dampening. It's mounted with just a plain 1X6 mounted across the vertical dividers toward the front. Mine was cut at the sam angle as the overhead which made it easy to have the tv mounted flat without straining the mounts in the tv. I used the backing plate and long screws from a "TV Mount for Dummies kit".
The box houses the DVD but will be replaced with a center speaker when I get around to the surround system. The trim around the box is flat 3/4 oak trim form Home Depot.
The Samsung has bottom speakers, if you use a surround sound system it's not an issue. I had to cut sound holes in the top front of the box. (I really need to get working on the surround system)
Hope this helps!
Chris
