110 outlet direct from 110 park supply

Evening, on my old Palomino pop up, I installed an outlet that was connected to a short length pigtail of heavy gauge wire. This pig tail is plugged into an extension cord that is then plugged into the additional 110 outlet at the camp ground.
Has anyone done this Mod on a Roo hybrid yet?
Was debating locations?
1. Additional outlet on the island
2. Near the kitchen seat on the bathroom wall?
3. On the slide out under the kitchen seat facing the island.

We would generally use it for the radiant heater or other bigger draw items to keep the breaker from tripping if we have the coffee pot plugged in and other stuff.

Before you do that type of mod, I suggest you confirm the total simultaneous power draw you need. The Roo has a 30 Amp power centre vs the 15 A one in your pop up. You'll probably have plenty of power available in the Roo except maybe when the AC is running.

My first time camping with the unit was last week. The breaker went as soon as the coffee pot was turned on . I could only imagine it was because the radiant heater plugged in at the same time.
I don't think the electric bed heater or electric blanket did it.
At the moment, it's just a consideration. It worked well in the pop up for sure.

Members have installed this through the wall elect outlet,me included. It makes additional power for a Heater/coffee pot/hair dryer,a simple plugin without putting a Ex cord through a window or slide seal! Marine applications like this are common! Youroo!! Our install left of BTR! in Pic

The photo was of the wheels chocked. I didn't see the plug installation .
I'm thinking of placing the access point in the outside shower compartment with a flexible seal that would allow me to pull out the whip and get it away from the shower area .
This would offer protection from the outside when traveling.
The old pop up, I made the access hole thru the floor and silicone caulked the heck out of it. But I always had a concern of leakage. Never had leakage, but thought about it when traveling during wet conditions.

The sealed 120V inlet is (To the upper left of the BTR Inlet)! I posted that Pic. to give a reference to its Location, Dont look at the wheels,Look UP! Youroo!!

OK, new here... What is BTR? Are you talking about the outlet box to the far left on the photo.?

Question for you electrical experts... At most parks where we camp, there is a 30A plug and a 15A plug on the power post, but no 50A service plug. For those power posts, can you typically get more than 30A out of the post (i.e. 30A + 15A)?

I did the same thing with our 2015 Leprechaun and I run the wire under the floor to the kitchen area. It works real well with everything running.

We have a port installed (similar to above pic) and hook up to 30 amp and the 15 amp. That way for our 30 amp TH we get 45 amps of available power. We have outlet in basement, bath room, and kitchen. Crock Pot, or hair dryer are not a problem anymore if I'm brewing coffee!

Even better! There is an actual item to install instead of just dangling the cord end.
So I take it this inlet has the male end of the extension cord mounted inside of it.
I would just need to run the wires to the outlet inside, where ever we end up deciding.

It depends. Most parks have several service branches before the site pedestal. A common configuration is a 100A breaker feeding three sites each with a 30A pedestal. If no one is on the other two sites then you may have some extra capacity. If each site is using their allotted 30A you may not. The problem that occurs is that although you can reset the 30A pedestal for your site, you most likely do not have access to the next service panel upstream and a park employee will have to reset the breaker. This may take some time and I would not do it too often unless you want to leave.

I asked because the only reason to add an extra 15A service plug to your camper would be so you can use more than 30A (assuming you have a 30A connection in your camper). If the pedestal is wired to provide 45A that's fine but if the park is full you may or may not be able to get more than 30A, sometimes not even that much.

Added a 30 amp receptacle to mine for second a/c but also installed another distribution panel for other circuits.
Plugged both of my 30 amp cords into a 50 to two 30's adapter.

I would have never guessed that was what he was referring to in the pic.

I have used the "cheater cable" that plugs in the 30 and also the 20 combining the 2 for a little more boost. The 30 and 20 don't give you 50 but something like 40 amps. Some RV parks don't allow such configurations.

I think fyrdad is talking about using his 30A cable as normally done and modding his TT to put an extra 15A service into it from the 15A outlet on the same pedestal using a totally separate line wired directly to a single outlet in the camper.
