12 volt TV converter box?

Anyone here running a TV converter box (digital to analog signal) directly off 12 volts DC?

My idea is to install a TV converter box and run it directly off 12 volts in order to tap into just the audio side and listen to TV over a radio speaker. I have a 7" digital TV but you can't turn off the display in order to save battery power. Often I only want to listen to the sound and not have the picture on.

If you have or know of a TV converter box that runs off 12 volts could you please tell me what the brand and model is?

Thanks!

Great info. I'll zero in on one of those 12 volt units.

Thanks!
