2018 Cherokee 274DBH Freshwater overflow

Hello,

We just upgraded from an old '04 Cougar to a brand new 2018 Cherokee 274DBH trailer and love it!!

We've been out twice this year and both times have run out of water after only 48hr weekend. After further investigation and online research I've determined that I am loosing a good portion of water from the overflow at the top of the freshwater tank.

The overflow is just a simple 90 degree tube coming out of the side of the tank and pointed down towards the ground.
Between the state park campground fill station and the site, I am probably loosing numerous gallons of water.

The most simple solution would be to just get a length of plastic tubing and a peacock valve but I'd like to hear what others are doing to remedy this issue??

I was thinking that I could turn the 90 up and attach a piece of tubing and possibly drill a small hole near the fresh water intake but the pressure in the tank would have to build up to force the overflow to move up, is that okay???

Thanks in advance for suggestions on how to remedy this concern!!!

The biggest thing is do not overfill your water. As soon as water hits that overflow, it acts like a siphon and you'll probably lose 10+ gallons of water as it trickles out.

No oveflow drain from water tank

I have a new FR204RD and I did the tank clean this week and noticed that there was no overflow drain under the vehicle. I have a low point drain hose coming down but that is it. Does anyone know if there is actually an overflow drain for this unit?

My last trailer had one and it let me know when to turn off the tap filling the tank. Having to come inside can cause problems with possibly overfilling the tank.
