You could go with the hard wire. I like it also after seeing some of the installs. I just like some of the features of the Southwire. (10 sec. on time, higher serge protection and warranty for RV items).

not overly cautious. I had those some concerns. Here's my 2 cents: all the water connections there are threaded and gasketed. The reason I installed the surge protector there is because that is where the power plug for the trailer is located in my model, it's next to the water pump and rear shower box. I guess with some extra wire, I could have moved the box to the other side of the bunk away from the water pump but I didn't see the point.

Good thoughts by both.

Like all mods but the one I really wanted to do myself is the rolling drawer under the bunk. If you don’t mind and have more pics on this mod, I would like to see. I have questions on the drawer when fully pulled out, does it hit the bathroom door? And did you take it all the way down to the floor and how are you going to lock in place? Thanks

I'll get some pictures in the next day or two. It can hit the door as it's pulled out although not if you're careful, I have it on 1" spinning casters so it rolls pretty well (I suggest rubber wheels, I have plastic ones but will be changing them when I can so it rolls smother. I put felt on the side of drawer that would hit the door and put plexiglass over them. Overkill, I know, but wife wanted to be sure it didn't scratch doors. If plexiglass gets too scratched I can replace it.

Thank you for the picture and ordering info for the silverware drawer. I ordered one and completed the mod today. I did have to redo your measurements a bit. I had to cut the back of the drawer at 3 1/8 inches in order for the new tray to clear the drawer latch mechanism. I used 1/2 by 1/2 runners and extended them out the back of the drawer by 12 inches. This keeps the silverware tray from dropping into the space behind the drawer when slid back.
Thanks again. Silverware storage is a problem on the 264 DBH's.

Replicated the original posters design on my 23DBH. Thanks again for the great idea and share.

Have yo thought about running a switch from the fan and bathroom light to the wall? I'm interested in what this would entail. my kids can't reach either of these.

I have a 6 year old stepson. My fix for late night bathroom issues was a battery operated led light switch. Stuck it to the wall by the sink (it comes with velcro). Lights up the bathroom perfectly and was $5 at the local hardware store. I might get more for in the outside storage compartments. Here's a link to the same one on amazon:

Looks good! The extension of the drawer was unnecessary for mine. In fact, it probably wouldn't work. I have the mini fridge that's accessible from outside. It's right behind those two drawers so it keeps the silverware tray from falling out when you slide the tray back and it forces the tray to slide back into the closed position when you push the drawer close.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Locking it in place was easy. You can use the same kind of lock set up they use on the other drawers but since it's on wheels, you'd have to aim it just right to get them to latch. I used magnetic cabinet latches on the backside of the drawer. I used 2 of them and they hold pretty tight.
