2nd roof top air conditioner

ok, who has a 2nd roof top unit that they installed themselves? Im looking to get one for my 2010 FR Sierra 355QBQ. Where is the best place to purchase from? Which AC unit is the best? I would appreciate any and all input!!

Lot more work than just sticking a unit up there. Is the vent you are going to use wired for an AC? You will have to convert to 50 amp service on the RV also. You will also be looking for a non ducted unit, as you will not be able to run ceiling duct work. Controls will need to be on the AC also as you will not be able to fish a wire down the wall for a thermostat. Sorry, not trying to be negative, just may not be easy.

But does the trailer have 50 amp service? Many put the wire in the vent, but the trailer is only wired for 30 amp, then other stuff will have to be changed before both ac's can run at the same time. You will also need to find the end of the second wire and make sure you have place to add a breaker for it.

It doesn't matter about anyone else's trailer. We are talking about his. I have seen two, supposed identical models with different wiring. There may be an option for "second AC wiring" then the dealer can put it in pr not based on customer desires, part of the country it is in, etc. The wiring will add several hundred dollars to his cost if it has to be done.
