A Good Nights Sleep??

I know that mattresses have been covered before BUT new products are always appearing on the market.. The short queen mattress that came in our 2 year old trailer from the factory, while currently adequate, it is quite cheap and the springs are starting to make their presence known. We have put an egg-crate foam cover on it that made things much better but again, springs are being noticed.. Has anyone tried some of the mattress toppers (foam/pillow covers that are about 4 inches thick) on their factory mattress that CW sells? Since the mattress is on a plywood deck that lifts for storage, weight is important BUT then again so is comfort.. Am open to ideas before the DW starts to make this an issue.

We replaced our mattress with a new thick foam topper RV mattress. It was on sale at our local dealer for $350. It is almost twice as thick as the RV mattress that came with the unit. The plywood deck still lifts without any problem.

Take a look at memory foam. We have a 2" and 1" on two of our three beds. Nice

We bought these at Kohls during one of their sales plus a 30% off coupon so were very cheap.

We had a Cougar 5th wheel that had the same problem. We have a local furniture store that makes his own furniture and mattresses, he made us a mattress to fit and it was great. Charge was around $300. but very comfortable.

We put a Serta Rejuvenator 4 inch memory foam mattress topper on the mattress in our old Wildcat trailer. It made a huge difference and was wonderful. When we traded in the Wildcat on our Silverback we took the Serta topper with us.

My unit came with a fulton mattress is just like a oversize puppy pad. I tried a 4 in memory form topper from Target which did help but still I could still feel the wood under me. I brought a mattress-in-a-box from Walmart and I just love it!

Replace the mattress. You can't polish a turd.
An Abe Feller mattress is hand made and will be signed by the builder.
Short Queen Size
If weight becomes a concern do what I am going to do - install stronger struts under the bed platform.

I do have the 4" topper from cw. 2" memory foam and 2" of pillow top. We love it. In fact, we are ordering a second one for our home bed. We did but a cheap no name mattress and gave the factory one away, but the topper really helps !

We have a 4" memory foam topper- but I don't know how it would hold up/keep you from feeling springs. We got ours from Kohls on sale and using Khols cash. It was originally expensive, but we got it pretty cheap.

We bought our RV new last July and noticed supplied mattress was starting to break down. So in December, we took our nice Serta mattress out of storage and put it in the RV without the box springs of course. This is a pillowtop reversible mattress designed for home use. But it sleeps really well in the RV. I can lift it myself to get to the under-bed storage but we prefer to have one person hold the mattress while the other digs under there. The mattress isn't significantly heavier than the one we replaced -- maybe 30 pounds or so. It is about 13 inches tall so on "party nights" we have to be a little careful so we don't bang a head on the ceiling...

2.5" memory foam topper from Walmart. Less than $100. Works great. They have a thicker version too.

I also put on the 4" Perfect Harmony topper from CW. Short queen now being sold for $150. As stated above, 2" of foam and 2" of a "pillow" topper. Very satisfied with the improvement. With this topper I feel no need to replace the mattress.

Our factory mattress was not cutting it, so we started looking for options. We found a sale on the sleep number RV mattresses and installed it in the 5'er. We extended the bed platform to accommodate the regular length mattress, ours came with the short one. So far we have not had any issues getting to the under bed storage. You do have to deflate the air bladders or they can rupture if you change altitude, so we deflate when we leave a CG and it only takes a few minutes to refill the bladders when we arrive at our next destination.

Upon the 1st night on the factory supplied mattress...I purchased the 4" topper from Wally World....Not sure on the brand but it was about 125.00. Cut it to fit the short queen. I think it might now rival my home mattress! Much Much better.

We have a 4 inch memory foam topper on the mattress we have have taken from 2 previous trailers we owned. In a month or so we will be ordering a regular queen size mattress. If we could get one just like the one in our spare bedroom my better half would be very happy. The topper just does not cut it for us.

Ditto, found here: Perfect Harmony Mattress Topper - Short Queen - Carpenter Co 31374538639 - Bed Pads & Mattresses - Camping World

The missus ordered it last July, and it has made a big difference her restful sleep....and when she sleeps better, I sleep better. But.......the bed won't stay in the raised position now with the extra weight.....I gotta get stronger struts.
