Add a dishwasher?

2016 Cedar Creek 36CKTS, thinking of adding a dishwasher. Has anyone done this in a CKTS or similar model? What brand of dishwasher, what specs, cost? I just had a repair guy tell me it would be very difficult to add to my island. I'm willing to give up 2 drawers - would it take more space? Pretty sure a dishwasher is an option in this model, ours didn't come with one. Thanks for any guidance!

If I remember correctly the dishwasher is an option in the bottom right side of the island. It would be nice if it were pre-plumbed for it.

I asked about adding a dishwasher option, preferably young, and DW said I couldn't have that.

Seriously, the thing that would concern me about a dishwasher is how much water they'd spit out.....and what that would do to the gray tank. So many campsites have no sewer......and that just adds a ton to the tank, I'd think.

We use high quality Chinette (at Sam's) paper plates and bowls and Red Solo Cups (you fill me up!)...........and good quality trash bags!

A dishwasher would be nice, yes........but I'd have to be fairly stationary for quite a while with sewer to justify it.

Mine is Fisher Paykel, very popular in RV's. Measures 23 1/2 x 16 h cutout size. Single drawer style works fabulous. Don't know cost. If you have water and a/c electric in island, that's all you need.

It's my understanding that dishwashers use very little water- almost comparable to doing dishes by hand.

This is often asked about, but I've yet to see someone who actually followed through on it. I just finished dishes here and I can tell you, I'd absolutely love one. I'm just not willing to give up the drawer space on my model (which are very limited in the first place).

A dishwasher is an option on the unit we are considering. I was curious if adding a dishwasher would increase the resale value so I discussed with our salesman. he gave me a pawkey look and said when he mentions a dishwasher is included on a unit the prospective buyers stare at him incredulously and say "really?"

Needless to say, when your *salesman* discourages you from getting a dishwasher, that's telling you something

BTW, he followed up his comment with you'd be giving up a BIG pots & pans drawer and...really...it's just the two of you...do you really need a dishwasher?

Why buy based on resale? I bought my camper to use and enjoy it. If something helps with resale, so be it.

X2. I modify mine and add to mine based on what will make me comfortable and happy. My floor plan is totally different than how it came. Was not and am not concerned on resale value. You don't buy a TT expecting high resale value. IT depreciates a lot as soon as you take off lot.

It is a depreciable asset.

In our ckts the dishwasher was installed under the roll up compartment next to the broom closet. Never thought we would use it but DW loves it. Drain water goes to galley grey tank and we don't use it unless we have full hook ups. It does do a good job cleaning though...😁

Anyone know if it's possible to add a drawer type dishwasher under the sink area? 'cause I would gladly give up the slide-drawer I currently have for a real live dishwasher=-)
